Houston’s Juneteenth Celebration Concert Event Production at Emancipation Park

Emancipation Park was founded in 1872 by four local community leaders as a place for remembrance of emancipation and Juneteenth.  Marking the park’s 150th year anniversary since founding, the City of Houston held a multi day outdoor event along with community discussions, family activities and and iconic national recording artist concert performances.   Juneteenth Celebration concert event production was a team effort consisting of The Emancipation Park Conservancy, The Mayor’s Office of Special Events, and the LD Systems event production team.

Concert Event Productionincluded live sound, lighting, video, site planning and support crews.

Drawing from decades of event production expierence, the LD Systems event production team conducted Emancipation Park site surveys leading to a custom designed concert stage and all production areas to turn the park into a full scale concert venue.   LD Systems worked closely with The Emancipation Park Conservancy managers to plan logistics, site entry and exit strategies with a keen focus on protecting the park’s natural beauty and ensuring success for event production plans in the future. Our lighting designers, audio engineers and video crews created production packages and hand picked crew members to support each production discipline.   Notably, the LD Systems video technicians raised the largest outdoor video screen in our history providing an awesome stage backdrop for all the speakers and performers.
