The Nautilus Amphitheater at SeaWorld San Antonio is a 3000 seat, multipurpose performance venue providing a wide variety of event opportunities. Completing an outdoor amphitheater audio system deployment in record time.
LD Systems was hired by SeaWorld to design a concert capable amphitheater audio system coinciding with the start of their summer concert series events. Working in close collaboration with L-Acoustics, a 3D model of the venue and a complete new sound system design was approved in less than a week. This condensed timeline was a perfect opportunity for LD Systems to bring forth our extensive experience in providing turnkey live sound solutions for events and large audio system installations in theaters, arenas and stadiums. The size and shape of the amphitheater required our audio engineers to embrace a difficult audio design challenge in providing 180° of sound coverage evenly dispersed to every audience seating location. The complete L-Acoustics speaker system comprised of seven A15i Focus, five A15i Wide, two A10i Wide, two KIVA II and eight KS21 subwoofers all driven by six LA4X amplified controllers. The speaker array deployments took into consideration the amphitheater aesthetics and ensured excellent high fidelity sound reproduction for every seat in the venue.
