St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Audio Video Integration
First established in 1946, St. Rose of Lima has become a vibrant part of historic Houston. The parish leaders reached out to the LD Systems AV design-build team to support a facilities growth plan including enhancements to the catholic church audio video system. LD Systems installed a new sound and video system that uniquely complemented the modest sanctuary’s intimate environment and ornate interior.
Catholic Church Sound System Installation
The new sound system is comprised of two separate Renkus Heinz ICL-FR speaker column arrays and ceiling speakers powered by an Atlas PA601 amplifier that will be used independently for spoken word, worship service leadership and music services. The flown Renkus Heinz speaker arrays include steerable beams via DSP software that allow for precise adjustment of coverage patterns. A JBL ASB6112 subwoofer, and a stage monitor to support music services were installed in the cantor area. An Ashly NE24.24m DSP will be used as the main mixer. Shure wireless microphones are used for services and an Ashly FR-16 remote control will assist with audio and instrument volume control.
Catholic Church Video System Installation
The new video system installation included LegendAV Da-Lite motorized projection screens mounted onto the existing stone walls flanking the altar. Two Panasonic PT-EZ580U projectors with long throw lenses were installed on both sides of the sanctuary avoiding any visual distraction from the building’s architecture and visual elements that adorn the sanctuary walls. An auto switching decora plate with HDMI and VGA connectors sends video signal to an Extron IN1608 for distribution and control is managed by an Extron MLC226 IP.
