Julie Rogers Theatre Audio System Upgrade
The Julie Rogers Theatre built in 1928 has been serving for decades as Beaumont’s City Hall and Auditorium. The theater has a capacity of over 1,600 seats and features exquisite historic architecture and a long history of hosting special events, concerts, galas and large audience meetings. Our design-build plan included removing existing audio equipment and installing a complete audio system upgrade for the theater that delivers impeccable acoustics.
The new audio system installed is a L-Acoustics product featuring new loudspeaker main arrays, side fills speakers, subwoofers, and front fill speakers on the stage edge. Audio delay speakers are hung for balcony coverage. This new system will ensure comprehensive audio coverage and adaptability for various events.
LD Systems employed cost saving measures by integrating audio amplifiers and audio controllers into existing equipment racks. Speaker lines are strategically installed with junction boxes and disconnects allowing for easy maintenance. Custom fabricated rigging for speaker locations was designed in collaboration with City of Beaumont Structural Engineers including chain hoist system for safe and convenient speaker array lowering and disconnection from the buildings delicate original ceilings. LD Systems provided audio system training for city staff, ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of the new system into the future.
