South America’s Pantanal Exhibit Audio System Integration

South America’s Pantanal is the largest wetlands in the world home to rare giant armadillos, giant anteaters, and giant otters, jaguars, capybaras and the largest macaws in the world. The Houston Zoo’s Pantanal exhibit allows guests to explore Brazilian ecology along an immersive and engaging trail all while supporting Pantanal conservation efforts.  Guests will encounter rustic buildings similar to those found in the region’s tourisim lodges that help protect this vital landscape and unparalleled wildlife assemblage.

The Distributed Audio System provides sound for the exhibit and zookeepers.

LD Systems was contracted by Tellepsen to integrate a distributed audio system throughout the exhibit.  The Zoo Pantanal Exhibit audio system integration offers ambient background playback, public paging and supporting Zookeeper communications.  The large zoo campus required new cabling and wireless antenna infrastructure to establish audio source control from the campus head to the exhibit.  Our bid-spec integration team also integrated an assistive listening system and audio receiver packs can be issued to visitors.  Crestron speakers and were installed discretely overhead and in landscaped locations to avoid any intrusion or distractions to visitors. Using Shure wireless microphone systems and AMX control Zookeepers can create audio zones to tailor to their specific needs for Zookeeper Chats and wireless communications.
