The Alley Theatre Remodeled Audio Video Lighting Integration

LD Systems recently completed the installation of the remodeled Alley Theatre audio video lighting integration at Houston’s landmark downtown location. The Alley Theatre was founded in 1947 and has occupied its current downtown location since 1968. The theater recently completed a $46.5 million building renovation including support for new audio video equipment that enables the company to replicate productions designed for any stage in the world.

The LD Systems audio visual systems integration division was awarded a bid-spec opportunity to provide and install a new theater AV system designed by AV consultant Jaffe Holden. The audio system design was comprised of a complete overhaul of the theater’s performance system. LD Systems installed Meyer Sound Mina line arrays and various Meyer Sound Ultra Series speakers for center cluster, FX, delays and theater surround audio. System processing and control utilizes BSS Soundweb London and Symetrix DSP processors, along with a Yamaha CL5 digital mixing console system.

Multiple large LED displays were installed in conjunction with a programmable digital signage system to provide theater guest information and live performance playback.   The theater box office was adorned with overhead digital signs to help facilitate ticket sales windows.  These digital signage displays were orineted in the best orientaions to compliment the renovated box office and lobby areas.
