Austin Ridge Bible Church AVL System Integration

Austin Ridge Bible Church is comprised of three campus locations in Austin served by a community of dedicated people reflecting the passion of God and biblical core values.  LD Systems working with AV consultant Idibri, Beck Architecture and general contractor Rogers O’Brien completed a new church AVL system integration at the Bee Caves campus including a large scale sound system, production lighting, a large format backdrop LED screen, broadcast cinema cameras, building wide infrastructure and a state of the art recording studio.  LD Systems’ integration team collaboration capabilities supported the systems design efforts increaseing confidence in a successful project outcome.

Worship Center Video System

A highlight of this large scale AV project was the Absen Polaris 3.9mm HDR LED Screen designed to create a dynamic digital backdrop supporting worship gatherings and sermons.   This video backdrop screen supports completely customizable video content via a Barco S3 processor and can display a variety of scenic imagery or video elements used to enhance the worship experience. The decision to go with a cinematic look led the church to the Panasonic Varicam cinema cameras and Canon Cinema Servo lenses that provide flexibility and a film quality look to their production.

Worship Center Sound Reinforcement System

A D&B audiotecknik sound system consisting of the new KSL large format line array, front fill speakers, flown and floor sub woofers and delay speaker were installed to provide full range audio coverage for the entire sanctuary including the ability to host large concerts or events for the community. Yamaha Rivage PM5 audio consoles with Silk Preamps were chosen for FOH, Monitors and Broadcast audio for the pristine audio quality and reliability that was needed to suit the needs of the team.

Worship Center Theatrical Lighting System

The theatrical lighting system design faced some unique challenges. The system needed to be flexible for reconfiguration and also have the output needed to overcome the 60 foot LED screen on stage. This led to an all LED front light solution from Chauvet Professional along and a large moving light package from Austin based manufacturer High End Systems. The lighting system also includes an ETC self climbing hoist with an automation control system, chain hoist, truss system and a Grand MA3 lighting console with 3D visualization for control.

AV Control Suite

The new AV system required an extensive production control space to accommodate the equipment and broadcast needs of supporting multiple campuses. Housed below the worship center stage on a lower level is an expansive video control room, equipment rack room, broadcast audio and meeting rooms along with the full multi room recording studio. The focus of the control room was to provide an efficient space for up to eight staff members and volunteers to operate broadcast video switching, graphics and content, engineering and other positions. Forecast consoles were chosen for their robust broadcast furniture. The rack room houses nine full racks of equipment including Ross Video, Barco, Riedel and other equipment responsible for operating the facility. The team at Austin Ridge also broadcasts two streams to each remote campus through the Resi Encoders and has the ability to remotely stream back to the main campus if a Pastor needs to lead worship from another campus.
