LD Systems was a sponsor for the 2008 Social Book Gala and showcased many technologies new to the special events industry. Such technologies include the floor-supported line array audio system, the High End Systems DL.2 Digital Light, and Coemar LED light.

Legends Ballroom at the Intercontinental Houston Hotel.

The lighting was attached to LD's floor-supported box-truss. The central area became bar-backs which hid the dimming system for the lights.

The High End Systems DL.2 Digital light is at once a video projector, moving head light, digital media server, and screen-blend system with an on-board video camera. Next to it is the Coemar LED light which consumes less electricity than a conventional light, can become any color, and can even strobe.

The models are backlit by the Coemar LED light which can change hues with deep saturation.

Lighting Designer/Programmer AJ Freysteinson programs the show on the MA Lighting grand-MA light console. This is the same board used for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo concerts.

Audio Engineer Jeff Keaton readies the digital audio board for the Richard Brown Orchestra. The floor-supported ElectroVoice XLC-VC line array speakers are in the background. The speakers go to ceiling height without having to attach to any rigging points.

LD projected the Lexus logo on the outside of the hotel near the valet area. Houston area Lexus dealers sponsored the event as well.
