Producer: Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo
The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo in partnership with the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted a dinner for the Society of American Travel Writers during the SATW annual convention. LD Systems supplied design, logistics, equipment and staffing for this one-of-a-kind event.

The George Bush Ballroom in the George R Brown Convention Center was the setting for the event.

The show concept began as a series of 3D computer renders created on Autodesk 3D Studio Max. Bitmaps and fills were created using CorelDraw and CorelPhotopaint.

In LD Systems' 5,000 square foot multipurpose space John Dickson, the event lighting designer, programs the show's content and effects. The instruments pictured include twelve HES DL.2 Digital Lights.

Dinner cues were designed to change and assume more interest as the finale video drew near.

The finale video produced by the HLSR Video Productions staff fed timecode to the lighting console, the MA Lighting grandMA. Pre-programmed effects set to timecode ensured a dazzling light show set to the audio and video tracks.

The finale video lighting enhancements consisted of sixteen Vari*Lite VL3000's, sixteen Vari*Lite VL3500's, and twelve High End Systems DL.2's.
