Uptown Park in Houston was the scene of the annual Page Parkes Modeling "Faces of Summer" model search for 2009. Finalists from the summer's search, having taken place in malls throughout Texas, compete for a modeling contract with Page Parkes. Sponsors included Trump Model Management, Momentum Audi, Houston 300 and Lenny e Cia. The unique challenge was to provide a large visual to support the event in an outdoor setting. LD Systems provided the lighting, video and sound systems that helped make the event a huge success. Read on for more about this event.
Awnings over Lenny e Cia became the projection surface for the event.
Special custom graphics were created by LD Systems to fit content onto the awnings.
Original daytime photo of the event site gave inspiration to use the building itself as the focal point of the event.
Framing the MC, Bambi Lynn of BLiNC, the building and awnings became a natural backdrop for the runway.
Momentum Audi of Houston was the key sponsor. LD combined Audi running footage, photos of the various competitions, sponsor logos, and background images to create the stunning footage. Playback was accomplished using the Hippotizer media server controlled by a grand MA lighting console.

Set-up of the event took place the day-of in the afternoon.

Lighting technician Fred Deci directs the final focus as sundown approaches. The extremely tight schedule of the show, beginning right at sundown, mandated a fast lighting and projector focus.
